This event offers a unique platform for learning and networking.

• Cannabis Cultivation & Extraction Facilities: Updates on NEC Article 512 and horticultural lighting equipment.
Presenter Ryan Jackson, Ryan Jackson Electrical Training, Steel Tube Institute– Ryan Jackson is a distinguished electrical code “Subject Matter Expert” and has taught the subject of the National Electrical Code for decades. His clients include some of the biggest and well-respected associations in the electrical industry, as well as colleges, universities, Forbes 500 companies, power plants, electrical contractors, cities, counties, labor boards, and a host of others. Ryan has written several books covering the National Electrical Code and has edited dozens more. Member of National Electrical Code® Code-Making Panel 17 and 3.
• NFPA 70B – Electrical Maintenance: Key changes in the 2023 edition and compliance guidelines.
Presenter Joe Pavia, Eaton Bussmann– Joe Pavia, P.E. is a Sr. Field Application Engineer with Eaton’s Bussmann Business. He has over 30 years with Bussmann series solutions, specializing in training on the design and application of overcurrent protective devices and equipment in electrical distribution systems in accordance with the National Electrical Code® and equipment in accordance with the various product standards. He is a registered Professional Engineer for several States, serves on UL508C/ UL61800-5-1 STP, NEMA SC07 committee and on Code Making Panel (CMP-1 & CMP-11) for the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70). He also is active in various trade organizations including the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), National Electrical Contractor Association (NECA), International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
• 2029 National Electrical Code Restructure: Multi-cycle transitions focusing on modern technologies.
Presenter George Mostardini, IBEW Local 134– George Mostardini has been a proud member of IBEW Local 134 for 23 years and enjoyed an up the ladder career beginning with a 5-year apprenticeship, working his way from journeyman to foreman to general foreman to superintendent, all the way to nearly owning his own electrical contracting business prior to transitioning as a Business Representative for IBEW Local 134.
Throughout his career as an electrician, George has been able to obtain nearly every Nationally recognized electrical inspector license, the coveted City of Chicago Supervising Electricians
License, and is an NFPA Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP). Having a strong background in both the National Electrical Code and City of Chicago Electrical Code gave George the opportunity to come full circle and teach not only as a part-time instructor at Local 134’s apprentice/journeyman training facility, but also as an adjunct instructor for Illinois IBEW Renewable Energy Fund’s renewable energy technology program partnered with Triton College.

Presenter Tom Lichtenstein, UL Solutions– Tom Lichtenstein is a Sr. Regulatory Engineer and Distinguished Member of Technical Staff in the Codes and Regulatory Services (CARS) Department at UL Solutions Northbrook, IL headquarters. As an electrical engineer with UL for 36 years Tom has spent the last 28 years building relationships with code authorities as part of the CARS team. Tom is UL’s principal representative for the National Electrical Code (NEC) CMP-7 for eight code cycles and past alternate on CMP-1. Tom is responsible for supporting the UL Mark for in the Midwest and providing technical presentations and support services for regulatory authorities.
